FORT WORTH, Texas — Archer Aviation Inc., a pioneering aerospace firm, has successfully raised $300 million from institutional investors to fuel its initiatives in developing electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. This funding, announced on February 11, 2025, is aimed at advancing the company’s ambitious plans for urban air mobility (UAM) networks.
Archer’s eVTOL aircraft, known as Midnight, are engineered to be safe, sustainable, and quiet, catering to the needs of urban air transit. The Midnight model, which will carry four passengers and a pilot, is designed for short-distance trips averaging around 20 miles, with quick turnaround times for minimal charging.
The new infusion of capital will support both the production and marketing of Midnight, as well as bolster Archer’s direct-to-consumer aerial rideshare service, branded as Archer UAM. According to the company, the Midnight represents an evolution of its earlier demonstrator aircraft, Maker, which has undergone extensive flight testing to validate its design.
“This funding represents a significant vote of confidence in our vision for urban air mobility,” said Archer CEO Adam Goldstein. “As cities grow and congestion increases, we believe aerial transportation will become an essential part of the urban landscape.”
Archer Aviation is working with a target price of $11.33 per share, which represents a potential upside of 11.11% from its last close price of $10.20. Based on the analysis of nine financial analysts, the consensus rating remains a bullish Buy.
With 578 employees, Archer is strategically positioning itself to lead in the emerging market of eVTOL aircraft—a sector anticipated to revolutionize personal and public transportation. The company is focused not only on its own aerial rideshare operations but also on selling its innovative aircraft to other operators.
As the aerospace industry pivots toward sustainability, Archer’s Midnight aims to meet the growing demand for environmentally friendly urban transit solutions. The investment comes at a critical time as the company prepares for expanded production and the intersection of technological innovation and practical application in urban environments.
