Arsenal Adjusts Lineup for Champions League Clash Against Slavia Prague
LONDON, England – Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has announced four changes to his starting line-up as the Gunners prepare to face Slavia Prague in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night. The match is set to kick off at 17:45 GMT.
Christian Norgaard steps in for the suspended Martin Zubimendi, while Ethan Nwaneri makes his first start of the season in European competition, with Eberechi Eze moving to the bench. Mikel Merino will lead the attack, replacing the injured Viktor Gyokeres. The final change sees Piero Hincapie start in defense instead of Riccardo Calafiori.
The Arsenal bench includes Max Dowman, Charles Sagoe Jr., and Andre Harriman-Annous. Goalkeepers Tommy Setford and Alexei Rojas-Fedorushchenko are also part of the substitutes as Kepa Arrizabalaga is sidelined with injury.
Slavia Prague has made two alterations to their team, which recently secured a 2-0 victory against Banik Ostrava, propelling them to the top of the Czech league. Greek international Christos Zafeiris returns to central midfield, while striker Mojmir Chytil will start from the bench, allowing left wing-back Youssoupha Mbodji to join the lineup.
Arsenal currently holds a perfect record in the Champions League, winning three consecutive matches, and they are looking to continue that streak against a Slavia side that has yet to win this season, collecting only two points from three matches.
Arteta’s changes reflect a strategic response to injuries and suspensions, with the manager hoping to balance performance with player health as the season progresses. Despite the challenges, the Gunners remain confident heading into the match.
The stage is set for an exciting encounter, with Arsenal eager to extend their successful run while Slavia Prague aims for their first Champions League win this season.
