Assam CM Alleges Rahul Gandhi Using Body Double During Nyay Yatra
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has raised accusations against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, suggesting that he may be using a body double during his ongoing Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. Sarma referred to a news portal’s claims that questioned if Rahul Gandhi was being portrayed by a look-alike during the tour from Manipur to Maharashtra.
During a media briefing, Sarma shared that according to Congress sources, the bus used by Rahul Gandhi for the tour has multiple rooms, and the Congress leader would often be seated inside with only a few people, while a “Rahul Gandhi lookalike” would greet the public. Sarma wondered if this supposed use of a body double was part of a larger conspiracy.
The Nyay Yatra, led by Rahul Gandhi, aims to cover 14 states over two months. It encountered tensions during its time in Assam, with an FIR being filed against Rahul Gandhi, Kanhaiya Kumar, and other Congress leaders. Sarma and Rahul Gandhi have engaged in a verbal duel as the yatra reentered Assam.
Continuing the political mudslinging, Himanta Biswa Sarma accused Congress politics of becoming “soft naxalite” and claimed that they no longer reflect Gandhian principles. He mentioned that during his 22 years in Congress, such slogans did not exist, but now the party’s slogans were of a different nature.
Sarma further alleged that Rahul Gandhi aimed to destabilize Assam during the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra and stated that the BJP would win all constituencies covered by him during the tour. Sarma also mentioned that Rahul Gandhi would be arrested after the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, as they already had evidence against him.
The ongoing tensions between Sarma and Rahul Gandhi have raised questions about the authenticity and purpose of the Nyay Yatra, which has faced scrutiny and controversy since its inception.
