Avatar: The Way of Water Returns with Exclusive Fire and Ash Footage

LOS ANGELES, CA — “Avatar: The Way of Water” will return to theaters worldwide on October 3, 2025, giving fans a chance to experience the stunning visuals of Pandora once more. Each screening will feature exclusive footage from the upcoming sequel, “Avatar: Fire and Ash.” This special event aims to build excitement for the third installment of James Cameron‘s blockbuster series.

Unlike typical re-releases that often include just one teaser, this re-release will showcase one of three brand new clips from “Fire and Ash” after each showing of “The Way of Water.” This makes attending multiple screenings desirable for dedicated fans who want to see all the new footage, according to reports.

“Fire and Ash” is the third film in the “Avatar” franchise, following the original released in 2009 and its sequel in 2022. The first film became a landmark in visual effects, grossing over $2.9 billion worldwide, making it the highest-grossing film of all time. “The Way of Water,” which earned $2.3 billion, is currently the third highest-grossing film, following its predecessor and “Avengers: Endgame.”

The new installment will bring back familiar faces, including Sam Worthington as Jake Sully and Zoe Saldaña as Neytiri. The story will follow their family as they confront a new enemy group called the Ash People. Tensions rise as conflicts escalate, potentially placing the fate of Pandora in their hands.
