Beloved Inglewood Brewery Ol’ Beautiful Destroyed in Devastating Fire
A fire erupted in the early hours of Sunday morning at the highly esteemed Ol' Beautiful brewery in Calgary, devastating the beloved Inglewood establishment. The Calgary Fire Department received reports of the fire around 2:30 a.m. and promptly responded to the scene in the Ramsay community.
Upon arrival, firefighters encountered smoke and flames engulfing the iconic brewery. Despite their efforts to contain the fire, it had already spread to the roof area, partially causing the roof to collapse. The fire consumed the taproom fully, leading to an intense battle to quell the flames.
Ol’ Beautiful brewery, a fixture in the community, announced on social media that the taproom will remain closed indefinitely following the catastrophic incident. The neighboring establishment, Cold Garden, evacuated safely as a precaution.
John Holt, a long-time Ramsay resident, expressed deep sorrow upon witnessing the charred remains of the brewery. He credited Ol’ Beautiful and Cold Garden for the transformation of the Ramsay and Inglewood neighborhoods, attracting residents and visitors from across Calgary.
Adam Kieran, an employee at Ol’ Beautiful, shared his sentiments on the loss, emphasizing the cultural impact the taproom held for many. He likened the experience to a tragic fairytale, indicating the profound effect this event has had on the community.
