A pair of talented musicians from Berkeley have cleverly blended climate change education with soulful R&B music, crafting a captivating slow jam titled (I’m Your) Heat Pump that is captivating audiences.

The song, performed by the charismatic Will Hammond Jr. and written by his bandmate Mike Roberts, uses the heat pump both as a metaphor for love and as a powerful tool in the fight against climate change.

With seductive lyrics like, “When you want it hot, I’m hot for you, when you want it cool, I’m cool witchu, babe,” the track weaves a narrative that is not only catchy but also informative about the benefits of heat pumps.

Roberts, a passionate advocate for electrification based in California, has been actively involved with the nonprofit organization NPR, and his enthusiasm for environmental causes shines through in this unique musical endeavor.

Converting his own household appliances to electric power, Roberts is dedicated to promoting the use of heat pumps to combat climate change, with the backing of the Inflation Reduction Act providing further incentives for households to make the switch.

Hammond, channeling the spirit of legendary singer Barry White, lends his smooth vocals to the track, infusing it with soul and charm that makes it both educational and entertaining.
