Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Switches Sides Thrice In Nine Years Of Bihar Politics

Bihar‘s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has given a clear indication of his growing distance from the RJD on Wednesday. On the occasion of Karpoori Thakur’s birth anniversary, Nitish went alone to Karpoori Thakur’s house, while his Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav was supposed to accompany him. Following this, Nitish criticized family politics and praised PM Modi on the occasion of Karpoori’s birth anniversary.

Earlier, during Congress leader Rahul Gandhi‘s Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra, there were talks of Nitish Kumar joining him in Bihar, but JDU has now openly denied it. Observing Nitish’s behavior, it is widely believed that he will soon switch sides again. Bihar’s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has already switched sides several times before. In 2013, JDU had broken ties with BJP and formed an alliance with RJD and Congress. In 2017, JDU once again strengthened its ties with BJP in the NDA and contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and the 2020 Bihar Vidhan Sabha election together. In August 2022, Nitish Kumar broke ties with NDA, led by the BJP, to become the Chief Minister, and formed an alliance with the Mahagathbandhan. JDU’s national spokesperson, Keshi Tyagi, said that our leader played a key role in forming the India Alliance, and increasing dissatisfaction among the ally parties due to seat distribution. On the other hand, BJP has summoned several leaders, including the party’s state president Samrat Choudhary, to Delhi to discuss this entire political situation.
