The Karnataka Lok Sabha Election Results for 2024 have brought the BJP-JD(S) alliance into the limelight as they lead the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the state. The early trends from the Election Commission show a significant lead for the alliance on 20 out of Karnataka’s 28 Lok Sabha seats, while the Congress is ahead in the remaining eight seats.

In key contests, Tejasvi Surya of the BJP is maintaining his lead against Congress’ Sowmya Reddy in the high-profile Bangalore South constituency. Simultaneously, Prajwal Revanna is securing a lead in the Hassan constituency, a crucial victory for the alliance.

The Congress, which has been in power in Karnataka, faces a tough battle against the BJP-JD(S) alliance, led by prominent figures such as DK Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah. The alliance’s success in key constituencies like Hassan and Bangalore South marks a significant turn in the state’s political landscape.

Among the exit polls by India Today and Axis My India, the BJP is predicted to secure 20-22 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka, indicating a strong showing for the party. The Congress is expected to win 3-5 seats, while the JD(S) is likely to clinch 2-3 seats, further solidifying the alliance’s position.

The voting in Karnataka took place in two phases on April 26 and May 7, covering a range of constituencies across the state. The voter turnout was the highest ever for a general election in Karnataka, with a notable increase in women voter participation.
