BJP’s Moradabad Candidate Kunwar Sarvesh Singh Passes Away
BJP‘s candidate from Moradabad constituency in Uttar Pradesh, Kunwar Sarvesh Singh, has passed away at the age of 72. The five-time former MLA and one-term MP had been undergoing treatment in Delhi for a prolonged illness.
Political leaders, including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing it as an irreparable one for the BJP parivaar, or family.
Sarvesh Singh was known for his grassroots leadership and popularity among the people. He had a strong belief in fighting for the issues that mattered to the public, working tirelessly to strengthen the party.
The Moradabad constituency, where Singh was contesting, is significant in U.P. politics. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, it was won by SP candidate S.T. Hasan, while Singh had claimed the seat in 2014.
In the current election, Singh was up against SP’s Ruchi Veera and BSP’s Irfan Saifi in a contest that had drawn attention due to the constituency’s demographic composition, with around 48% Muslim voters.
