Bola Tinubu Appoints Hafsat Abubakar Bakari As Ceo Of Nfiu

President Bola Tinubu has made the decision to appoint Ms. Hafsat Abubakar Bakari as the Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU), subject to Senate confirmation.

The announcement came through a statement from presidential spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, highlighting Ms. Bakari’s experience in anti-money laundering, counter-terrorism financing, and counter-proliferation financing.

Prior to her new role, Ms. Bakari served as Deputy Director at the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit, holding various positions at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The President expressed confidence in Ms. Bakare’s capabilities to tackle illicit financial activities, emphasizing the government’s commitment to combating fraudulent practices in the forex markets.
