Breeze Airways to Launch New Service from Salisbury to Orlando

SALISBURY, Md. – Salisbury Regional Airport will welcome its first new commercial route in years when Breeze Airways begins nonstop flights to Orlando on Oct. 1. Local travelers are eager for the change, as the airport has only offered two American Airlines routes to Charlotte and Philadelphia.
The addition of flights to Orlando provides residents with a direct option to one of the most sought-after vacation destinations in the country. For longtime traveler Diane Davenport, this new route marks an important development for the airport and the community.
“I think that the new flight that they’re adding is going to be wonderful,” Davenport said. “And I think it’s going to benefit many people.”
Families who typically drive long distances to reach larger airports are also expressing excitement. Local business owner Leann Marriner recalled the time when Salisbury last had nonstop flights to Orlando, noting how affordable they were.
“I have not utilized Salisbury since they had straight flights to Orlando years ago, which was great,” Marriner said. “And the price was extremely affordable at $50 a ticket.”
With Breeze Airways introducing a low-cost option, Marriner is keen to fly from Salisbury again. “Oh 100%. I have four children and we all know what’s in Orlando, Disney World,” she said. “So absolutely, as long as the price is affordable and it makes sense, I would love not to drive to Baltimore and have a straight flight to Orlando.”
Breeze Airways, founded in 2021 by JetBlue co-founder David Neeleman, is known for expanding in small to mid-sized markets. The airline aims to connect underserved airports with nonstop routes, eliminating the hassle of connecting flights. The first flight from Salisbury to Orlando is set to depart on Oct. 1, and airport leaders are optimistic about the demand potentially leading to more destinations in the future.
