New York, NY – Bruce Springsteen expressed his delight with Jeremy Allen White‘s portrayal of him during the screening of the biopic ‘Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere’ at the New York Film Festival on Sunday, Sept. 28.

The music legend, 76, attended the event at Alice Tully Hall and shared his gratitude with the film’s cast and crew. “I want to thank everybody for coming out to see our film tonight and our crew, a great cast,” Springsteen remarked.

Springsteen specifically praised White, saying, “Jeremy Allen White for putting his whole heart and soul into the part, just such a wonderful job, and for playing a much better looking version of me. I’m really thankful for that.”

The film chronicles the making of Springsteen’s 1982 Nebraska album, depicting his journey as a young musician grappling with the pressures of fame and his past. White, 34, shared that he had many direct conversations with Springsteen during production, asking him specific questions about his life and experiences.

“He talked to me about a panic attack he’d had, and he described it to me as in this moment he felt like he was like a voyeur in his own life,” White reflected. “That’s a feeling I’m familiar with,” he added, speaking about his connection to Springsteen’s experiences.

After the screening, Springsteen performed “Land of Hope and Dreams,” thanking the audience and expressing his appreciation for the cast, including Jeremy Strong, who plays his manager Jon Landau. “Jeremy Strong for his creativity and his inspiration…he played a much, much better-looking Jon Landau,” Springsteen said.

‘Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere’ is set to hit theaters on Oct. 24, 2025.
