Buba Galadima Warns President Tinubu Against Meddling in Kano Politics
Elder statesman Buba Galadima has issued a strong warning to President Bola Tinubu, cautioning him against interfering in the intricate politics of Kano State. During an interview on ARISE Television, Galadima emphasized the potential risks of such involvement, indicating that Kano‘s political landscape could pose a threat to Tinubu’s presidency.
Galadima, a key figure in the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), advised the federal government and President Bola Tinubu to tread carefully in Kano’s political arena, warning that neglecting this caution could lead to detrimental consequences for Tinubu’s presidency.
Reflecting on his experiences in dealing with Kano politics during his time with the National Party of Nigeria (NPN), Galadima raised concerns about the different factions within the state that can sway political decisions and potentially jeopardize Tinubu’s standing.
Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, a prominent figure in NNPP, also weighed in on the issue, accusing the Federal Government of siding with what he described as the ‘enemies of Kano’ in the ongoing emirate crisis that has sparked tensions within the state.
Notably, the rivalry for the Emir of Kano title has escalated between Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi and Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, leading to a standoff with Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, who dethroned Ado Bayero but faced resistance as the 15th Emir of Kano stayed put in the mini palace at Nassarawa.
