Call Her Alex Reveals Private Wedding Details, New Allegations

NEW YORK, N.Y. — Podcaster Alexandra Cooper opened up about her private wedding and personal experiences in her new Hulu docuseries, “Call Her Alex,” which premiered on June 10, 2025. The two-part series includes details about her marriage to Hollywood producer Matt Kaplan, whom she wed on April 6, 2024, in Riviera Maya, Mexico.
During a Q&A at the Tribeca Festival on June 8, Cooper discussed how they filmed their entire wedding but only included a small portion in the docuseries. “I was filming it and I’m like, ‘Okay, these people don’t need to see my whole f—— wedding,'” she said. “But it was so fun to rewatch it… oh my God, this is so beautiful.”
One notable moment shown in the series features Cooper and Kaplan exchanging vows, during which both expressed deep emotions. “You inspire me every day. You’re fiercely loyal… the way you love me is indescribable,” Cooper stated. Kaplan, fighting back tears, responded, “It’s the smaller moments… that have truly written our love story together.”
Cooper, who is known for her private nature, acknowledged the challenges of exposing her personal life on camera. “You’re really seeing me in my life with my husband… I think this was a goal to show a little bit more,” she explained.
Alongside her wedding story, Cooper also bravely shared allegations of sexual harassment she faced while attending Boston University. In the docuseries, she recalled an incident involving a coach that began during her sophomore year. The allegations reflect a troubling experience that she felt needed to be brought to light, given the alleged continued harassment on campus.
Cooper expressed her fears of retaliation before speaking out, adding, “I also worried people would downplay or dismiss the severity of what I experienced because the abuse wasn’t physical.” She explained that despite her initial intention to keep the docuseries light-hearted, the encouragement from her director led her to confront her trauma. “It really put in perspective that the harassment and abuse of power was and is so much bigger than me,” she stated.
Cooper aims to use her story to empower other women who have experienced similar situations and promote awareness about systemic issues of abuse. “If you or someone you know has been a victim of sexual abuse, text ‘STRENGTH’ to the Crisis Text Line at 741-741 to be connected to a certified crisis counselor,” she advised.
