Calypso Waterpark Closed After Strong Chemical Odour Forces Evacuation
Families visiting Calypso Waterpark had their plans abruptly changed when a pungent chemical odour led to the park’s closure on Tuesday. Visitors were disappointed as the popular attraction shut its doors for the day due to what was described as ‘technical issues’ on the park’s website.
According to a spokesperson for Calypso, the decision to close the waterpark was made after an unusual chlorine odour was detected during a routine delivery early in the morning. The spokesperson emphasized that the safety of guests, employees, and contractors is always their top priority.
As authorities worked to assess the situation and ensure the park’s safety, Calypso announced that they intend to reopen the park on Wednesday, allowing visitors to enjoy the attractions once again.
Located approximately 45 kilometres southeast of Ottawa, Calypso’s unexpected closure prompted Ontario Provincial Police to advise the public to steer clear of the area due to heavy traffic disruptions.
Meanwhile, in B.C.’s Lower Mainland, a peculiar incident unfolded over the weekend at a local golf course. Authorities intervened in a dispute involving multiple golfers, triggered by apparent breaches in golf etiquette that escalated into a significant altercation.
