The 10th anniversary of Tyler, the Creator‘s Camp Flog Gnaw festival got off to a vibrant start on Saturday, November 16, at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. The two-day event, which is a celebration of hip-hop and R&B, featured a diverse and star-studded lineup that included some of the biggest names in the music industry.
Doechii, one of the standout performers, captivated the audience with her energetic set and even brought out SZA to perform the remix of ‘Persuasive.’ This collaboration was a highlight of the day, showcasing Doechii’s growing influence in the hip-hop scene.
Vince Staples, another major act, delivered a powerful performance that resonated with the thousands of fans in attendance. His set was part of a broader lineup that included other notable artists such as Kaytranada, Sampha, and School Boy Q.
Sampha, the British crooner, pianist, and producer, took the stage with his four-person band and performed emotive songs like ‘Plastic 100°C’ from his 2017 project ‘Process‘ and ‘Suspended’ from his 2023 album ‘Lahai.’ His performance was marked by his energetic dancing and deep, reflective singing.
Tyler, the Creator, the festival’s founder and headliner, had a lot to celebrate as he closed out the first night. His latest album, ‘Chromakopia,’ has been a chart-topper, and he performed a significant portion of it during his set. Wearing a mask and a military uniform, Tyler delivered a dynamic performance that included tracks like ‘Noid,’ which was dense and menacing.
Omar Apollo also made a notable appearance, finishing his set with show-stopping ballads ‘Evergreen (You Didn’t Deserve Me At All)’ and ‘Glow,’ which highlighted his versatility as a pop romantic.
