CBS Soap Returns to Reruns Amid Fan Concerns

LOS ANGELES, CA — CBS is airing reruns of its new daytime soap opera, “Beyond The Gates,” for the second time this year during the Labor Day holiday week. Starting September 1, viewers will see episodes 45 through 49, with new episodes set to return on September 8.
This break marks the second consecutive holiday week of reruns for the series, which debuted in February. Unlike many daytime dramas that typically only pause for one day, CBS has opted for a week-long hiatus, a decision that has sparked mixed reactions among its dedicated fan base.
As noted, the network’s strategy is intended to build anticipation for the storyline. In recent episodes, characters face high-stakes drama as they attempt to rescue a trapped loved one, promising a thrilling return.
Despite the show’s unique production schedule and its status as the first new soap opera since “Passions” in 1999, some viewers have expressed frustration. Comments on social media reflect a divide; while some fans commend the show’s early renewal for a second season, others question the rerun schedule.
“It’s absolutely ridiculous that they would start this soap opera with reruns so soon after its start-up,” said fan Pamela Walton. “It makes you question why this soap opera is being treated so differently.”
As CBS makes changes to its programming, some fans remain hopeful about the direction of the show. “Beyond The Gates” will also become available on the Canadian streaming service Crave starting September 1, expanding its reach.
In response to viewer concerns, CBS has promised an engaging storyline when the series returns, hoping to captivate the audience with unexpected twists and compelling drama.
