LOS ANGELES, CA — Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is set to play Balrog, a character from the iconic video game series, in a new feature film adaptation produced by Legendary Entertainment.

The rapper and entrepreneur joins an impressive cast that includes Jason Momoa as Blanka, Noah Centineo as Ken, and Orville Peck as Vega. Joe Anoa’i, also known as Roman Reigns, will portray Akuma, while Andrew Koji plays the lead character, Ryu. Callina Liang has been cast as Chun-Li.

Jackson’s role as Balrog makes him the disgraced boxer and henchman of the film’s villain. Sources reveal that the artist is intensely training for the role and will perform his own stunts.

The production begins in August in Australia, directed by Kitao Sakurai, known for his work on “The Eric Andre Show.” While details about the plot remain closely guarded, anticipation is high as the film sets a March 20, 2026, release date.

The “Street Fighter” franchise, which launched as an arcade game in 1987, surged in popularity with the release of “Street Fighter II” in 1991. The latest installment, “Street Fighter 6,” won the award for Best Fighting Game at the 2023 Game Awards.

Jackson, celebrated for his music career and successful ventures in television, including the “Power” series on Starz, continues to expand his footprint in film. His production company, G-Unit Film & Television, has also contributed to ABC’s “For Life” and other projects.

As the release approaches, fans eagerly await more details regarding the cast and storyline of this updated adaptation of a beloved video game series.
