Chandrababu Naidu’s Victory Marks Political Shift in Andhra Pradesh
In a significant political development, Chandrababu Naidu, the leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), has secured a major win in Andhra Pradesh alongside his allies in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) – including the BJP and Pawan Kalyan‘s Jana Sena Party.
The TDP has emerged victorious in 135 out of the 175 Assembly seats, with the Jana Sena Party winning 21 seats and the BJP securing 8 seats, collectively reaching a total alliance tally of 163 seats. On the other hand, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP), led by Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, only managed to win 12 seats.
Sources indicate that Chandrababu Naidu is anticipated to take the oath as Chief Minister on June 9 in Amaravati, the capital city of Andhra Pradesh.
Following the election results, Jagan Reddy gracefully accepted defeat and submitted his resignation to the Governor of Andhra Pradesh, S Abdul Nazeer. In his statement to the press, the outgoing Chief Minister expressed his gratitude for serving the people and wished success to the election winners.
Chandrababu Naidu also extended his congratulations to both Prime Minister Modi and BJP leader Amit Shah for the impressive victory of the NDA alliance in Andhra Pradesh.
