HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, FloridaCharlie Woods tied for the low final round of the day, leading Benjamin School to its second FHSAA Class 1A team title in three years on Saturday.

The junior from the Palm Beach private school birdied his last hole, finishing with a 4-under 68 at Mission Inn Resort. Benjamin School rallied past The First Academy to secure a five-shot victory.

This is not the first time Benjamin School has enjoyed success in golf. They also won the team title during Woods’ freshman year.

Mingbo Jiang, a senior from The First Academy and a USC signee, won the individual title with a score that was three shots better than Woods’ teammate, Andrew Tsar. Woods ended the round tied for fourth at 2-under.

Among those watching was Woods’ father, 15-time major champion Tiger Woods. He was seen walking the course, supporting Charlie during the high school state championship match alongside Elin Nordegren and members of his TGR staff.

The 16-year-old Charlie has had a notable rise in junior golf this year, winning the AJGA Team TaylorMade Invitational in May and tying for ninth at the Junior PGA Championship during the summer. Recently, he was named a first-team AJGA Rolex Junior All-American, ranking ninth in AJGA standings and fourth in the Class of 2027.

Charlie Woods is the top-ranked AJGA 2027 recruit without a college verbal commitment. Other high-ranking recruits have already made commitments, including Miles Russell (Florida State) and Giuseppe Puebla (Florida).

While no updates on his recruitment have been shared by Woods’ camp, there is significant interest from several top schools in the SEC and ACC. Reports suggest Florida State is among those interested, as evidenced by head coach Trey Jones being spotted at the event talking with Tiger Woods.
