LOS ANGELES, CA — Cheryl Hines, known for her role as Larry David‘s wife on the HBO series “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” has revealed that she is no longer close with David following her political shift. During an episode of the “Hot Mics with Billy Bush” podcast on Monday, Hines admitted that she and David have not spoken in some time.

“I love Larry, and I think Larry loves me,” Hines, 68, said. “I think it’s just politics, it makes conversations difficult.” The actress mentioned that their last interaction was likely at an event for the show’s Season 12 finale last year.

Friends of Hines reportedly expressed shock at her political transformation, with a Hollywood peer stating, “It’s so hard to make sense in my head because she was so liberal before.” Hines, who is currently married to Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a member of Donald Trump’s administration, has faced backlash for her political affiliations.

The Daily Mail noted that Hines has allegedly been “iced out” of David’s upcoming HBO project produced by Barack and Michelle Obama. Sources claim that the Obamas oppose anyone connected to Trump being involved in the series.

“The Obamas are adamant that anyone politically connected to Trump should not have a role in any of their media projects,” a source told the outlet. This shift in Hines’s political landscape may have consequences for her career in Hollywood.

Reflecting on her relationships, Hines commented on how her marriage to Kennedy, who has political aspirations, has changed her standing within the industry. “I’ve witnessed how politics can come in and change everything in various friendships and relationships,” she said.
