Comedian Michael McIntyre Postpones Show Due to Medical Procedure
Comedian Michael McIntyre, renowned for his work on the BBC hosting gigs like Michael McIntyre’s Big Show and The Wheel, has been compelled to postpone a gig on his global tour. McIntyre, 48, was set to perform at the Mayflower Theatre in Southampton but had to undergo an operation to eradicate kidney stones, rendering him unable to take the stage.
The announcement of McIntyre’s unavailability was made via a post on his social media platform. The message expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to fans and specified that the show at the Mayflower Theatre would be rescheduled for a later date, with existing tickets remaining valid. Refunds would be granted to those unable to attend the rescheduled performance.
This marks the second setback on McIntyre’s Macnificent World Tour, with a previous missed show at Plymouth Pavilions attributed to illness. The Plymouth performance was also confirmed to be rescheduled, assuring ticket holders that they would have the option of refunds if necessary.
Following the postponement in Southampton, McIntyre is slated to perform at Nottingham‘s Motorpoint Arena for a three-night stint starting from Friday through Sunday. The comedian’s touring schedule includes upcoming stops in locations like Newcastle and Manchester later this month, with plans for shows in major UK cities such as London, Birmingham, Glasgow, and Belfast in the coming spring.
Last year, McIntyre ventured beyond the UK, taking his comedy tour to audiences across the US, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and mainland Europe, solidifying his international presence in the entertainment realm.
