Jeff, a contestant on the current season of The Great British Bake Off, made headlines after deciding to leave the competition following just two episodes. The former university lecturer cited health concerns as the primary reason for his abrupt departure. On the recent episode, the 57-year-old, originally from Brooklyn, expressed his decision with the words, “I’m done,” citing feeling unwell for a second consecutive week.

Speaking with presenter Alison Hammond, Jeff mentioned that he had reached his limit, to which Hammond offered words of encouragement, saying, “You tried man. You tried.”

Jeff later appeared on An Extra Slice, a companion show hosted by Jo Brand, where he humorously referenced his brief tenure on the Bake Off. Upon taking the stage, Jeff quipped, “I’m done. Sorry, I’m out of here,” eliciting laughter from the audience.

A notable incident during the show involved judge Paul Hollywood attempting a New York accent while saying “coffee,” which Jeff joked about as possibly influencing his decision to leave. “I was walking. That was it. I’d had enough,” Jeff stated, still in good spirits.

Despite his early exit, Jeff shared that he is feeling better and is busy working on the wedding cake for his son’s forthcoming wedding. Reflecting on his experience, Jeff remarked on social media, “The Bake Off has been an amazing and challenging experience of a lifetime,” complimenting his fellow participants and the production team.

Meanwhile, the show continues with new developments. In the same series, contestant John has been announced as the third contestant to leave the tent after failing the challenge during bread week. He had initially gained acclaim as the first star baker of the season. John will also appear on An Extra Slice alongside Jeff and other contestants.
