An Australian comedic duo has sparked controversy after staging a prank at the esteemed feminist event, Love Unboxed, in Sydney. The event featured a panel of renowned Australian feminists, including Clementine Ford, Yumi Stynes, and Antoinette.

The duo in question, The Inspired Unemployed, caused a stir by crashing the event with a comedic skit as part of their involvement in Season Two of the show (Impractical) Jokers.

Attendees at the event were left shocked and outraged by the duo’s unexpected appearance and subsequent actions.

Love Unboxed, which was intended as an evening of insightful discussions on sex, love, relationships, and marriage, featured a surprise guest described as a ‘young male,’ who turned out to be Jack Steele from The Inspired Unemployed.

Maybelline San Juan, a witness at the event, recounted on her Instagram the discomfort felt by the audience as Steele made seemingly misogynistic and inappropriate comments in response to feminist questions posed by the panel.

Jai Mitchell, another attendee, described the prank as awkward and noted that the audience’s reaction ranged from shock to horror as the evening unfolded.

The event took a turn when the panel revealed that Steele’s remarks were part of the comedy skit, leaving many attendees feeling misled and agitated.

Despite subsequent apologies from the panel and Steele himself, attendees expressed their disappointment and discomfort with the nature of the prank and its impact on the event’s original purpose.

Following the incident, discussions on social media platforms, including Instagram, have highlighted the need for sensitivity and awareness when addressing feminist topics in public forums.

The Inspired Unemployed, as well as Clementine Ford, Yumi Stynes, and Antoinette, have yet to issue public statements regarding the controversial prank, further fueling the debate surrounding the boundaries of comedy and feminism in entertainment.
