Cuomo’s Final Campaign Day Marked by Controversial Bronco Appearance
New York, NY — Andrew Cuomo, the former governor of New York, made headlines on November 3, 2025, as he campaigned in a 1996 Ford Bronco, drawing comparisons to O.J. Simpson‘s infamous vehicle. On the last day before the New York City mayoral election, Cuomo was spotted driving the Bronco, which he affectionately called his ‘Good Luck Truck.’
Cuomo shared a video on social media where he enthusiastically showcased his vehicle, despite acknowledging that he faced ridicule for it. ‘I’ve had this Bronco for many years, and yes, I’ve been ridiculed quite a bit for it being a classic piece of automobilia history,’ he said. While making his case for the vehicle, he emphasized its unique features, such as its pinstriping and interior design.
The tone of his promotional video turned contentious as he made jokes that referenced notorious figures, raising eyebrows among viewers. This came on the heels of accusations against Cuomo, relating to past allegations of sexual harassment that had led to his resignation as governor.
Cuomo’s campaign has been closely watched, particularly in the face of his main opponent, Zohran Mamdani, a Democratic socialist who has led in the polls. Some reports suggested that Cuomo’s appearance with the Bronco was ill-timed, especially given the heightened scrutiny around illegal parking where the Bronco was spotted.
In an effort to rally supporters, Cuomo also aimed to dispel rumors about his connection to the infamous Bronco tied to Simpson, insisting, “It’s not the O.J. Bronco.” His claims have not convinced many critics who see it as a symptom of his controversial campaign style.
With the voting rapidly approaching and polls opening at 9 a.m. on Election Day, many New Yorkers were prompted to make their voices heard as Cuomo faced potential defeat in the densely populated city.
