Dak Prescott Passing Yards Record Dallas Cowboys

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina — Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott made history on Sunday in a thrilling Week 6 matchup against the Carolina Panthers. Despite missing top receiver CeeDee Lamb, Prescott led his team to score 24 points through three quarters, showcasing his skill as he surpassed Troy Aikman for the second-most passing yards in Cowboys history.

With 32,947 passing yards and counting, Prescott is now only behind Tony Romo’s 34,183 yards. This significant milestone occurred during a game where he completed 20 of 25 passes for 214 yards and three touchdowns heading into the fourth quarter. The Cowboys, however, found themselves trailing 27-24 at Bank of America Stadium as time dwindled.

“It’s a great honor to be mentioned alongside two of the best quarterbacks in Cowboys history,” Prescott said following the game. “I just want to keep winning games for this team.”

This season, Prescott entered the game completing 71.3% of his passes for 1,356 yards, 10 touchdowns, and just three interceptions. He signed a four-year, $240 million extension last offseason, making him the highest-paid QB in the league.

Coach Mike McCarthy expressed confidence in Prescott’s capabilities. “He’s proven time and again that he can rise to the occasion, and today was no different,” McCarthy said. “We have full faith in him to lead this team.”

Lamb is expected to return as early as next week after injuring his ankle during a loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 3. His comeback would certainly bolster the Cowboys’ offensive strength.

The Cowboys will attempt to bounce back next week against the Washington Commanders, hoping to improve their record and continue their offensive momentum.
