Daniel Ricciardo is currently exploring his career options following his exit from VCARB, with Supercars chief executive, Shane Howard, expressing interest in bringing him to the Australian racing scene. Howard intends to reach out to Ricciardo’s management with an offer to join the Supercars series.

Ricciardo, known for his vibrant personality and impressive driving skills, was recently released from his Formula 1 team. His departure was announced by VCARB following the Singapore Grand Prix, marking his last appearance on the F1 grid with the team. The Red Bull junior team has chosen to move forward with Liam Lawson and Yuki Tsunoda for the remaining races of the season. This decision is considered part of Lawson’s audition for a potential F1 race seat in 2025.

While Red Bull’s team boss, Christian Horner, has not closed the door entirely on Ricciardo’s involvement, noting his capabilities, there seems to be little interest from other F1 teams. Ricciardo is also reportedly not in consideration for the sole available seat at Audi for the next season.

Supercars’ Shane Howard, speaking to News Corp, articulated a strong desire to see Ricciardo in the series, highlighting the excitement and draw his involvement could bring. “Imagine him racing at Bathurst, that would be very cool indeed,” Howard remarked, showing optimism about the impact Ricciardo could have in the series.

However, Ricciardo has expressed hesitance about moving to other racing formats. In discussions with media in Singapore, he questioned whether racing in other motorsport series could provide him with the same level of satisfaction as Formula 1, a sport in which he has experienced what he described as “the highest of highs.”

Ricciardo, speaking about the possibility of joining another racing series, said, “No guarantee I’ll be awesome doing something else. Is that actually going to scratch the itch and give me what I want?”
