Dave Portnoy Barstool College Football Show

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Dave Portnoy, founder of Barstool Sports and a prominent personality on Fox College Football, announced that he will not bring his show to Brigham Young University (BYU) for the rivalry game this weekend due to a no-swearing stipulation from the school.

Portnoy had planned to broadcast “The Barstool College Football Show” live from LaVell Edwards Stadium, leading up to the “Big Noon Kickoff” on FOX Sports. However, he shared on his podcast that BYU wanted the show but set conditions he could not accept.

“They want Barstool here. The caveat was there was no swearing in the show,” Portnoy explained. He stated that although BYU was willing to help cover costs, the terms did not work for his crew.

Portnoy clarified on social media that “BYU did not ban Barstool,” emphasizing that the school showed interest in having the show. “It just wasn’t in the cards but by all indications they really wanted it,” he said.

While Portnoy will still participate in the “Big Noon Kickoff” panel in Provo, he will be without other Barstool personalities. “It’s a shame, but I look forward to being there,” he said.
