Davido’s Tribute to Late Friend DJ Olu Seven Years On

Nigerian Afrobeat star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has paid tribute to his late friend Olugbemiga Abiodun, widely recognized as DJ Olu. In a heartfelt gesture on Instagram, Davido shared a throwback picture of himself with DJ Olu, accompanied by the message “Billi 4ever,” commemorating the seventh anniversary of his friend’s passing.

DJ Olu was notably known as Davido’s official disc jockey during his lifetime. Tragically, DJ Olu, the son of the current Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, was found deceased alongside his friend Chime Amaechi in a BMW car on October 7, 2017. Both were 25 years old.

In memory of the late DJ Olu, his family established the Gbemiga Abiodun Memorial Education Support Programme. During the second edition of this initiative occurring recently, the programme disbursed a total of N91,050,000 to empower 1,000 students from primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions across Ogun State, according to the PUNCH newspaper.
