Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Celebrates Holi with Armed Forces in Leh
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh marked the festive celebrations of Holi with the diligent Army personnel stationed in the picturesque locale of Leh on March 24. His itinerary initially included a visit to the revered Siachen Glacier, renowned as the highest battleground globally; nevertheless, the inclement weather foiled his plans, redirecting the festivities to Leh. Accompanied by the prestigious Chief of Army Staff General Manoj Pande, the Defence Minister conveyed his profound admiration for the soldiers safeguarding the nation’s borders amidst treacherous weather conditions.
Addressing the valiant troops post the vibrant Holi celebrations, Rajnath Singh hailed Ladakh as a bastion of courage and valor, echoing its significance as the epitome of national determination. Drawing an analogy, he likened Ladakh to being India’s 'capital of bravery’, much like Delhi’s political capital, Mumbai’s economic hub, and Bengaluru’s technological stronghold.
The Defence Minister’s presence in Leh not only underscored the resilience exhibited by troops in the challenging terrain but also highlighted the intrinsic value of their service in safeguarding the nation’s interests.
The Siachen Glacier, nestled close to the India-Pakistan Line of Control, stands as a testament to India’s strategic positioning, serving as the largest glacier in the country and the world’s second-largest. The symbolic gesture of celebrating Holi amidst the military fraternity in Leh resonates with the sacrifices and dedication exhibited by the personnel stationed in such demanding environments, reiterating the nation’s gratitude for their unwavering commitment.
