Delhi Congress President Criticizes Kejriwal’s Road Inspection as ‘Drama’
Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Devendra Yadav has launched a vehement critique against Chief Minister Atishi and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, terming their recent inspection of the city’s roads as mere “drama.” According to Yadav, Kejriwal’s actions amidst the capital’s infrastructural challenges are in essence a political ploy concocted by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). He questioned the rationale behind Kejriwal’s reawakening to the city’s infrastructural woes, asking, “Why were the developmental projects in Delhi put on hold in the first place?”
Yadav further alleged that the AAP’s ministers and legislators had been preoccupied over the past six to seven months with efforts solely aimed at maintaining Kejriwal’s political foothold rather than advancing the city’s welfare. “Had Kejriwal been genuinely concerned about Delhi,” Yadav argued, “he would have stepped down from his position before being incarcerated.”
Highlighting the casualties resulting from infrastructural failures, Yadav questioned the AAP’s absence when over 40 lives were lost due to waterlogging, electrocution, and building collapses. He lamented, “Inspections by the civic agencies could have prevented these tragedies.” Yadav also pointed to the incident where Kejriwal, accompanied by Manish Sisodia, conducted inspections as if he were still the Chief Minister, while also criticizing Atishi’s role as a “mere puppet.”
In related developments, Arvind Kejriwal addressed Chief Minister Atishi in a letter handed over during his speech in the Delhi Assembly. The letter emphasized the urgency of carrying out road repairs across Delhi, which he characterized as being in a “dire state.” He recounted a recent encounter with a prominent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader who allegedly boasted about disrupting the Delhi government following Kejriwal’s arrest.
Kejriwal accused the BJP of purposefully derailing Delhi’s development to discredit the AAP government. “Their objective was to paralyze Delhi in hopes of winning the upcoming elections,” Kejriwal stated. He pledged to undertake the restoration of halted public projects, urging ministers and legislators to assess road conditions and start repairs immediately.
Kejriwal asserted, “We are here to serve the public. It is imperative to labor tirelessly to restart all stalled projects in Delhi and address the issues faced by its residents.”
