LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Denis Bouanga etched his name in Major League Soccer history on Sunday night, becoming the first player to score at least 20 goals in three consecutive seasons. This remarkable milestone came at BMO Stadium during a match where he equalized in first-half stoppage time.

Bouanga demonstrated his skill by combining with his teammates before skillfully placing his shot past the opposing goalkeeper. This achievement places him among an elite group, as he is only the sixth player in MLS history to record multiple 20-goal seasons.

<p"Major League Soccer (@MLS) tweeted, “Denis Bouanga becomes the first ever MLS player to record three-straight 20 goal seasons. 👏HISTORY.” The Gabon international’s latest success has positioned him two goals behind the current Golden Boot leader, who has 22 goals.

Currently, Bouanga has been on a scoring streak, having scored in four consecutive matches. His synergy with teammate Son Heung-Min, who joined LAFC in early August from Tottenham Hotspur, has been evident in their attacking style.

Bouanga recently surpassed Carlos Vela to become LAFC’s all-time leading goalscorer, now totaling 95 goals in all competitions. This significant achievement reflects his impactful presence on the team.

The four-time MLS All-Star continues to close in on the Golden Boot presented by Audi, confirming his status as one of the league’s premier forwards.
