Dallas Fort Worth Weather Forecast

Fort Worth, Texas — A dense fog advisory for the Dallas-Fort Worth area has expired, but residents are advised to remain cautious as storms approach the region this evening.

The National Weather Service issued the fog advisory earlier today, warning that visibility could drop to as low as a quarter of a mile. Fortunately, the advisory lifted at 10 a.m., allowing for improved driving conditions. However, motorists are still encouraged to exercise caution on roads.

Following the fog, the weather is expected to clear up for much of the day, leading to partly cloudy skies and a predicted high around 85 degrees. Mild southwest winds blowing at 5-10 mph will contribute to pleasant afternoon temperatures.

However, a new weather system is moving south across North Texas and is expected to bring scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms later in the evening. The storms could arrive in Dallas County between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m., with the most intense activity anticipated from midnight to 3 a.m.

The National Weather Service warns that certain areas to the west, including counties near Cisco and Waco, may see hail and strong winds as storm activity increases.

This storm system comes after a notably wet May for the Dallas-Fort Worth area, with rainfall recorded on 11 days thus far. Even with the stormy forecast, the month is currently about 0.1 inches above average rainfall.

As temperatures begin to dip into the low 60s tonight, many in the region will be closely monitoring weather developments as they plan their holiday weekend.
