Devara Part 1 Set for OTT Release After Box Office Success

The much-anticipated film “Devara: Part 1,” featuring popular Indian actors Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor, has been performing remarkably well in cinemas across the Telugu-speaking states. Directed by Koratala Siva, the film was released in theaters on September 27, 2024, to mixed reviews, with many appreciating its visual appeal but criticizing its plot.

Despite the varied critical feedback, “Devara: Part 1” has enjoyed commercial success, amassing over Rs 500 crore globally. In light of this achievement, the film is expected to make its debut on the OTT platform Netflix on November 8, 2024, available in multiple languages. However, Netflix has yet to confirm this release date publicly.

The cast also includes Saif Ali Khan, playing the antagonist, and other notable actors such as Prakash Raj and Meka Srikanth. The music, composed by Anirudh Ravichander, has been particularly praised, contributing significantly to the film’s reception. The production of “Devara: Part 1” was managed by NTR Arts and Yuvasudha Arts.

In addressing the film’s reception, Jr NTR noted in an interview that modern audiences tend to overanalyze films, remarking, “We, as an audience, have become very negative these days. We are not able to enjoy a film in an innocent manner anymore.” He highlighted how children enjoy movies naturally without dwelling on criticism.

Looking to the future, the filmmakers are already preparing for a sequel, “Devara: Part 2,” with rumors that Bobby Deol might take on the role of the antagonist. Additionally, the director Koratala Siva has shown interest in involving actors Ranbir Kapoor or Ranveer Singh in the sequel.

Meanwhile, Jr NTR is set to star in “War 2,” directed by Ayan Mukerji, alongside Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani, with the release slated for August 14, 2025. This next project underlines Jr NTR’s rising trajectory in the film industry.
