Devon Walker Leaves Saturday Night Live After Three Seasons

NEW YORK, NY — Devon Walker has announced he is leaving the cast of “Saturday Night Live” after three seasons. Walker shared the news on Instagram on August 25, 2025, stating, “me and baby broke up.” His departure comes as the show prepares for its 51st season, set to return on October 4.
Walker joined SNL as a featured player in the 2022-23 season before becoming a repertory cast member for Seasons 49 and 50. He gained popularity for his impressions of various figures, including Frank Ocean, Michael Strahan, and New York Mayor Eric Adams.
In his Instagram post, Walker reflected on his time at SNL, revealing mixed feelings about his experience. “Me and the show did three years together, and sometimes it was really cool. Sometimes it was toxic as hell,” he wrote. “But we made the most of what it was, even amidst all of the dysfunction. We made a fucked up lil family.”
It’s uncertain whether Walker’s departure was voluntary. In his post, he humorously questioned, “wait..did he quit or did he get fired?” In a separate Instagram story, he emphasized that it was time for a change, saying, “This is good news!”
The executive producer of SNL, Lorne Michaels, hinted at potential changes to the cast for the upcoming season. Still, he confirmed that James Austin Johnson would continue portraying President Donald Trump. Other cast changes are expected, as a refresh for the show is underway.
Before joining SNL, Walker wrote for Netflix’s animated series “Big Mouth” and Freeform’s “Everything’s Trash.” He also has a stand-up special on Hulu and hosts a podcast called “My Favorite Lyrics.” This departure marks the end of a chapter for Walker as he plans to explore new opportunities, including seeking roles in more serious drama projects.
