During her headlining performance at the Global Citizen Festival on Saturday, September 28, rapper Doja Cat delivered a powerful message addressing global injustices. The event took place on the Great Lawn in New York‘s Central Park, gathering a vast audience committed to social change.

“Right now, millions of men, women, and children in Gaza, Ukraine, Sudan, the Congo, and all across the world are suffering,” said Doja Cat. “In times like this, it is important to remember that we have the power to bring change, love, light, and hope to those who need it most.” Her comments highlighted the urgency for collective action in aiding affected communities worldwide.

Partnering with Global Citizen, an organization that aims to end extreme poverty, Doja Cat emphasized the importance of continued advocacy efforts. “Please keep using your voice to help those fleeing violence get the food, shelter, and education they need and very much deserve,” she urged the audience. Her motivation was clear as she called this “our time to put it into what matters most, and that is life.”

In a lighter moment during her set, Doja Cat subtly addressed rumors regarding her relationship status with actor Joseph Quinn, known for his role in “Stranger Things.” While performing “Agora Hills,” she mentioned, “I’m not married,” following speculation sparked by her wearing a ring at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas. She clarified these rumors on the social media platform X, stating, “no, im not engaged its a David Yurman ring with no rocks in it.”

The festival was hosted by Global Citizen Ambassador Hugh Jackman and included performances by artists such as Post Malone, Jelly Roll, and Rauw Alejandro. The event offered free tickets to fans who took action through the Global Citizen platform to combat poverty, defend the planet, and demand equity.

In addition to the musical performances, the concert featured notable appearances by Jane Goodall, the UN Messenger of Peace and founder of the Jane Goodall Institute, and Chris Martin, the Coldplay singer who served as the event’s curator. Their participation underscored the festival’s commitment to global awareness and coordinated efforts to address significant international issues.
