San Jose, CA — The Anaheim Ducks secured a dramatic 7-6 overtime victory against the San Jose Sharks on Saturday night.
Leo Carlsson netted the winning goal just 46 seconds into overtime, capping a thrilling contest that saw both teams exchange leads. The Ducks pulled goaltender Petr Mrazek for an additional skater to help tie the game, leading to Chris Kreider‘s goal with just 51 seconds left in regulation.
Kreider and Cutter Gauthier each contributed two goals for Anaheim, with Carlsson also adding two assists. Mrazek made 17 saves during the game. Duck’s forward Mason McTavish assisted on three goals, showcasing his playmaking abilities.
The Sharks also had standout performances, with Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith each providing three assists. Adam Gaudette, Tyler Toffoli, Ryan Reaves, Mario Ferraro, John Klingberg, and Jeff Skinner also found the back of the net for San Jose. Goaltender Yaroslav Askarov was busy, stopping 36 shots in the loss.
