The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) has announced plans to escalate its current advocacy efforts in support of Palestine following Israel‘s recent offensive in Rafah.

Speaking at a press conference in Thiruvananthapuram, Communist Party of India (Marxist) MP A.A. Rahim condemned Israel’s actions in Rafah as a brutal act of ethnic cleansing.

Rahim highlighted the importance of youth-led protests worldwide in solidarity with Palestine, stating that the ongoing campaign would be amplified through protest activities organized by the DYFI throughout various regions in the country.

The objective of these protests, according to Rahim, is not only to show solidarity with Palestine but also to expose the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh‘s (RSS) pro-Israel stance, particularly in light of their ‘India Stands with Israel’ campaign.

Rahim criticized elements within the Sangh Parivar for seemingly celebrating the tragedy in Rafah and expressed surprise at the Congress party’s silence on the matter.

In addition to the campaign for Palestine, Rahim called for an unconditional apology from Prime Minister Narendra Modi following his recent controversial remarks about Mahatma Gandhi.

Rahim described Modi’s comments as deeply insulting, suggesting that the Prime Minister could have instead highlighted Gandhi’s global impact by referencing his assassination and the subsequent international attention it brought to the RSS.

According to Rahim, Gandhi’s principles of unity and peace pose a challenge to the divisive ideology promoted by the Sangh Parivar, making him a perpetual target for those espousing hatred and communalism.
