EAM Jaishankar Meets WHO Chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus at Munich Security Conference
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar engaged in discussions with the Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, during his participation at the Munich Security Conference.
During the sideline meeting at the conference, EAM Jaishankar and Tedros conversed on topics related to traditional medicine and pandemic readiness, with Jaishankar affectionately referring to the WHO chief as ‘Tulsi Bhai’.
The cordial reference ‘Tulsi Bhai’ traces back to PM Modi‘s introduction of the name during Tedros’s visit to Gujarat last year, where the WHO chief was attending health and medicine conventions under the Indian Prime Minister’s welcome.
The ongoing 60th Munich Security Conference is being helmed by German Ambassador to the US, Christoph Heusgen, and marks an in-person assembly at Hotel Bayerischer Hof in Munich from February 16-18.
Additionally, EAM Jaishankar held diplomatic dialogues with Canadian counterpart Melanie Joly and German counterpart Annalena Baerbock, focusing on bilateral relations and global challenges respectively.
Jayshankar also convened with Argentina‘s Foreign Minister, Diana Mondino, discussing economic and political collaborations between the two nations.
