Cedar City Utah Snowstorm

CEDAR CITY, Utah (KUTV) — Utah’s first widespread snowstorm of the season brought unforeseen disruption to Cedar City and other areas across the state. The storm hit early Friday morning, leaving Iron County and its neighbors blanketed in slush.

Transportation throughout the region was slightly impacted as vehicles navigated slushy conditions. While most automobiles managed to traverse the streets relatively well, the wintry weather conditions led to the cancellation of a high school state championship mountain bike race scheduled for Friday morning.

Amanda Roberson, a local resident, captured the impact of the snowfall through a photograph she shared with the community. The image depicted a mountain bike entirely covered in snow, secured to the back of a vehicle, serving as a poignant illustration of the abrupt change in plans for the cyclists.

However, the snow and cold temperatures are not expected to persist. According to weather forecasts, a warming trend is anticipated, with temperatures predicted to rise as early as the coming weekend.
