Ekiti State Governor Launches Open Government Partnership Steering Committee to Enhance Public Participation
Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, has inaugurated the steering committee on Open Government Partnership (OGP) with a focus on boosting public participation at the local government level.
The inauguration took place at the Conference Hall, Governor’s Office, where Governor Oyebanji emphasized the importance of transparency, accountability, and citizen engagement in governance.
During the event, Governor Oyebanji pledged to extend the OGP initiative to all local governments in Ekiti State to prioritize the needs and aspirations of the people in governance.
The Director-General of the Office of Development Partnerships, Ekiti State, Mr Oyeleye Abiodun, described the OGP as a global effort to enhance government transparency and citizen empowerment.
The steering committee, co-chaired by Commissioner Niyi Adebayo and Prof. Oluwadare Christopher of COECSO, commended Governor Oyebanji for his commitment to good governance in Ekiti State.
Other members of the committee include the Director General of Development Partnerships, Special Adviser on Office of Transformation and Service Delivery, Permanent Secretaries from key ministries, the Accountant General, and the Commissioner for Infrastructure and Public Utilities.
