Exciting New Releases on Netflix for December 2024
As the holiday season approaches, Netflix is gearing up to release a diverse array of movies and series in December 2024. For those looking forward to some dark comedy, the series “No Good Deed” is set to premiere on December 12th. Starring Ray Romano, Denis Leary, and Linda Cardellini, this eight-episode series follows three different families vying to buy the same 1920s Spanish-style villa, each believing it will solve their problems.
Thriller fans can anticipate the action-packed movie “Carry-On,” releasing on December 13th. This film stars Taron Egerton and Jason Bateman and revolves around a TSA agent who must outsmart a mysterious traveler who blackmails him into allowing a dangerous package onto a Christmas Eve flight.
Historical drama enthusiasts will be interested in “The Six Triple Eight,” a war drama written and directed by Tyler Perry. This film, set to release on December 20th, tells the story of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, an all-Black and all-female battalion during World War II. The cast includes Kerry Washington, Susan Sarandon, and Oprah Winfrey.
In addition to these releases, Netflix will also air live NFL games on Christmas Day, featuring the Kansas City Chiefs vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens vs. the Houston Texans. Other notable releases include the sci-fi movie “Subservience” starring Megan Fox on December 5th, and “Mad Max: Fury Road” on December 30th.
Regional releases also bring exciting content, such as the M. Night Shyamalan movie “Knock at the Cabin” in the UK on December 14th, and “Dune: Part Two” in Australia on December 12th. These releases promise to end 2024 on a high note for Netflix, despite the platform acknowledging it wasn’t their best year.
For those who enjoy animated films, “Spellbound,” a new animated musical from Netflix and DreamWorks animation, is another highlight. Starring Rachel Zegler as Princess Ellian, this film follows her quest to save her family and kingdom after an enchantment turns her parents into monsters. The movie features music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Glenn Slater.
Netflix is also continuing its tradition of holiday movies with titles like “Hot Frosty,” starring Lacey Chabert and Dustin Milligan, and “Our Little Secret,” featuring Lindsay Lohan and Ian Harding. These films offer a mix of romance, comedy, and festive spirit to keep viewers entertained throughout the holiday season.
