Doordash Driver Kohberger Trial

Pullman, Washington — An alleged DoorDash driver has told police she will testify against Bryan Kohberger in his upcoming capital murder trial. The woman’s statements were documented in body camera and dashcam footage after she was pulled over on Sept. 4, 2024, for driving with expired registration, then arrested for driving under the influence.

The footage, released by police in response to a public records request, shows the woman explaining her stressors related to the trial of Kohberger, who faces charges for the murder of four University of Idaho students in 2022. She stated repeatedly that she was the DoorDash driver who delivered food to Xana Kernodle just before the stabbings occurred.

Kernodle, along with Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, and Ethan Chapin, was killed in the early hours of Nov. 13, 2022, likely just minutes after the driver made her delivery. Kohberger has been charged with four counts of first-degree murder and one count of burglary, with potential sentencing including the death penalty.

During her arrest, she told officers, “I’ve gotta testify against Bryan next year,” adding that she had “enough crap going on.” She told a police officer she parked next to Kohberger when she made her DoorDash delivery.

Her DUI charge later changed to first-degree negligent driving, and she pleaded guilty. The prosecution has indicated they want to include Kernodle’s DoorDash order in their case against Kohberger, using the driver’s account to establish a timeline of events leading to the murders.

The defense team has maintained Kohberger’s innocence, stating he was driving alone at the time of the incidents. Jury selection for Kohberger’s trial is scheduled to begin on Aug. 4 in Boise, Idaho, with opening arguments set for Aug. 11.
