Benson Cardinals Football Player

PHOENIX, Ariz. — Fantasy football managers have access to vast amounts of data this season, aiding in lineup decisions. Analysis of advanced metrics indicates player performance trends, offering insights beyond last week’s stats.

Benson has emerged as a standout for the Arizona Cardinals in the initial weeks. In previous seasons, Emari Demercado had specialized roles, while Benson served primarily as a backup to James Conner. This year, though, Demercado has played just one offensive snap, elevating Benson’s standing as a viable option.

Selected second overall in the 2024 NFL Draft, Benson showcased his talent with 291 yards and a touchdown on 63 carries last season. In the current season, he has maintained his target count from last year with six, averaging an impressive 7.5 yards per carry. His efficiency is reflected by a +37 rush yards over expected (RYOE), placing him among elite company in the NFL.

Despite Conner’s solid starting role, Benson’s increased participation could benefit both him and Conner long-term. In Week 2, Benson’s eight opportunities compared to Conner’s 12 signal a promising trend. Managers should consider Benson a critical addition to their fantasy teams.

Meanwhile, the Green Bay Packers face challenges with injuries to key players. Jayden Reed is sidelined for several weeks due to surgery on a broken clavicle. This injury opens the door for Wicks, who had a 59.1% slot rate in Week 2, making him a key target for quarterback Jordan Love.

Wicks led the Packers in targets last season, and with Reed unavailable, he is expected to step up as a primary target. Wicks’ ability to earn targets is noteworthy; last season, he achieved a target at a high rate. This season, he is already among the top three targeted players on the team.

Lastly, the Atlanta Falcons, under new offensive coordinator Zac Robinson, have shifted their personnel strategy. Moving to a 12 personnel setup, the Falcons utilize tight end Kyle Pitts more effectively than before. This change allows Pitts to excel as a receiver rather than a blocker, enhancing his fantasy value significantly.

This transformation from the previous season may rejuvenate Pitts’ role in fantasy football, potentially marking a return to form for the talented tight end.
