Fantasy Football Cut Recommendations

NEW YORK, NY — As the NFL season progresses, fantasy football managers face the crucial task of managing their rosters, especially with injuries impacting key players. With many teams entering bye weeks, the decision to cut certain players is becoming increasingly important. This week, a list of players is recommended for cutting from fantasy rosters.

Joe Burrow, quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals, remains on this list due to a significant calf injury. He is expected to miss most of the season, leaving managers to question if it is worth holding onto him any longer. Burrow’s absence has raised concerns about his ability to contribute meaningfully during the fantasy playoffs, should the Bengals still be in contention.

Another quarterback on the cut list is Trevor Lawrence of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Despite his team’s 3-1 record, Lawrence’s performance has been disappointing, only once breaking the 12-point threshold this season. His struggles, combined with tougher defenses ahead, suggest that managers should consider dropping him.

James Conner of the Arizona Cardinals has faced an unfortunate turn of events with a severe ankle injury that will end his season. Reports indicate he will undergo surgery, making him a necessary cut for managers who need to optimize their rosters.

Brian Robinson Jr., a backup running back for the Washington Commanders, is also on the list as he has not produced enough fantasy points to justify his roster spot. Though he has potential as an injury replacement, his current lack of standalone value makes him a candidate for release.

The rookie Kaleb Johnson has seen his role diminish following a mishap during a game. His struggles to get on the field might not warrant keeping him any longer, especially with limited touches and a recovering Jaylen Warren likely returning soon.

Additionally, Quinshon Judkins from the Cleveland Browns has started to solidify his position as the number one running back. However, his backup Dylan Sampson has underperformed and does not need to remain on active rosters at this time.

Tank Bigsby was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles, which has significantly reduced his fantasy value. Being part of a crowded backfield, with little opportunity for actual play, he should be released from rosters.

Finally, Malik Nabers and Tyreek Hill’s severe injuries create massive holes in their respective teams. While Hill’s injury has been particularly disappointing, both players should be dropped to focus on healthier options.

Week 5 requires tough choices as teams look to navigate injuries and optimize their lineups for better playoff positioning.
