New Delhi, India – The 70th Filmfare Awards 2025 took place on October 11 at the EKA Arena in Ahmedabad, celebrating the best in Hindi cinema from the past year. Hosted by superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar, the ceremony recognized outstanding talent across various categories.

Major winners included ‘Laapataa Ladies,’ which dominated the night by securing the Best Film award along with 12 other accolades. The film’s success parallels ‘Gully Boy,’ which won a record 13 awards in 2020.

During the event, veteran actress Zeenat Aman received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award. The award was also posthumously conferred upon beloved filmmaker Shyam Benegal, honoring his significant contributions to Indian cinema.

Among the night’s highlights, newcomers Nitanshi Goel and Lakshya were awarded Best Debut for their performances in ‘Laapataa Ladies’ and ‘Kill,’ respectively. The ceremony was filled with electrifying performances from stars like Akshay Kumar, Ananya Panday, and Maniesh Paul.

Categories like Best Actor went to Abhishek Bachchan for ‘I Want To Talk‘ and Kartik Aaryan for ‘Chandu Champion.’ Alia Bhatt was named Best Actress for her role in ‘Jigra.’

Other notable winners included Arijit Singh for Best Playback Singer (Male) and Madhubanti Bagchi for Best Playback Singer (Female). The Best Music Album went to Ram Sampath for ‘Laapataa Ladies.’

Director Kiran Rao expressed her gratitude following the major wins, stating, “What a night! The film is not suddenly Laapata tonight. Thank you again, aap sabka pyaar hamare liye sabse ahem hai.”

As the ceremony unfolded, fans celebrated the magic of cinema, witnessing not only awards but also heartfelt moments and performances. This year’s Filmfare Awards not only recognized achievements but also rekindled the nostalgia of Bollywood classics.
