Fire Erupts at St. Petersburg Recycling Center

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Firefighters from St. Pete Fire Rescue are currently engaged in extinguishing a significant fire that erupted on Thursday afternoon at a local recycling center.

The blaze started at the facility located on 30th Avenue North near 26th Street North. Eyewitness reports and photographs from the scene depict a substantial heap of metal scraps, appliances, and other debris completely engulfed in flames, resulting in a massive plume of black smoke visible from a distance.

Numerous fire rescue units have responded to the emergency and remain on-site to control the situation. The circumstances leading to the fire outbreak are still under investigation.
