Fargo Apartment Fire 2024

A significant incident unfolded at an apartment complex in Fargo, North Dakota, on Tuesday afternoon, resulting in the evacuation of residents. The emergency call was made just after 2:00 p.m. at The Nest apartments located at 1781 35th Street South, situated on the eastern side of Interstate 29, south of 13th Avenue South.

Battalion Chief Joe Mangin informed Valley News Live that the fire’s origin was a lithium battery, which ignited the blaze. The fire was confined to a single unit on the second floor of the complex. The sprinkler system installed in the building successfully extinguished the fire, preventing further spread.

Mangin reported that although most of the damage in the affected unit was from water used to put out the fire, there was also some minor fire and smoke damage. Following the incident, most of the evacuated residents have been permitted to return to their apartments.
