Former first lady Melania Trump will not be among the keynote speakers at the upcoming Republican National Convention, breaking from the tradition of wives of Republican presidential nominees delivering addresses.

Despite her absence from the speaking lineup, Melania Trump is expected to attend the convention, as confirmed by an adviser to former president Donald Trump.

The roster of speakers at the convention includes members of the Trump family, such as Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, Lara Trump, and Kimberly Guilfoyle.

Both of Trump’s daughters, Tiffany Trump and Ivanka Trump, are notably missing from the list of speakers scheduled for the convention, with Ivanka Trump opting out of any political role at the event.

Melania Trump’s decision to refrain from political engagements post-White House is evident in her absence from recent campaign rallies and public appearances alongside her husband.

During her past speeches at the Republican conventions in 2016 and 2020, Melania Trump made waves for various reasons, including echoes of Michelle Obama‘s 2008 Democratic convention speech and her vocal support for Donald Trump.

Notably, Barron Trump, the youngest son of the Trump family, is also not slated to speak at the convention, adding to the absence of certain family members from the speaking engagements.

In her 2020 convention speech, Melania Trump addressed the unrest following George Floyd‘s death, highlighting the need for honesty and reflection on the country’s historical challenges.
