Former first lady Melania Trump has decided not to take part in a speaking role at the upcoming Republican National Convention, diverging from her past appearances at such events. Although she will attend the convention, Melania Trump is not included in the list of key speakers announced by convention organizers.

The speakers at the convention will encompass a variety of figures, including Donald Trump‘s two elder sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, as well as former Fox News host Tucker Carlson. Singer Lee Greenwood, model and rapper Amber Rose, and Ultimate Fighting Championship CEO Dana White are also slated to address the attendees.

Other notable names on the speaker lineup include evangelist Franklin Graham, Teamsters President Sean O'Brien, and Trent Conaway, the mayor of East Palestine, Ohio, who criticized President Joe Biden‘s response to a 2023 train accident in his town. The roster also features potential vice presidential picks like Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance, and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, alongside South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott.

In contrast to previous conventions, Melania Trump’s absence from the speaking list marks a shift, signaling her continued inclination towards privacy despite her attendance at the high-profile event. The lineup suggests a lineup of varied perspectives, with figures from politics, entertainment, and other sectors set to take the stage. Some political figures like Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, and former administration officials like Peter Navarro and Mike Pompeo, are also expected to make appearances at the convention.
